For patients being referred as part of contracted beds with designated Community Workers, you can discuss any concerns or ask questions to your worker prior to admission.

Below are listed a number of frequently asked questions which may help provide further information:

1. Do you cater for people with special needs and disabilities?
1. Yes, Hafan Wen is fully compliant with current standards for access for disabilities.
2. Will I be allowed visitors whilst at Hafan Wen?
1. No, currently Hafan Wen has a no visiting policy.
2. This policy includes children.
3. Will I be allowed out during my stay?
1. No, unless escorted by staff.
4. Can I smoke at Hafan Wen?
1. Yes, in designated smoking rooms only. Failure to comply may resulting in discharge.
5. What happens if a person consumes alcohol whilst at Hafan Wen?
1. They would be discharged at the soonest opportunity to do so safely. Hafan Wen has a zero tolerance to consuming alcohol regardless of whether it is someones substance of choice.
2. Regular breath samples will be requested as part of the admission contract, signed by all patients admitted.
6. What happens if I use drugs whilst at Hafan Wen?
1. This will result in discharge at the soonest opportunity. Hafan Wen has a zero tolerance to use of any substance not prescribing by the unit Doctors.
2. Regular, supervised urine samples will be requested as part of the admission contract, signed by all patients admitted.
7. What do I need to bring with me?
1. Toiletries- (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant etc)
2. Towels.
3. Cloths
4. Small personal radio/cd player
5. Cigarettes (if required)
6. A list of current medication.
8. What shouldn’t I bring?
1. Televisions
2. Games consoles (although hand held ones are permitted.)
3. Electrical equipment
4. Current medication
9. What do I do if I have appointments whilst at Hafan Wen?
1. As far as possible these should be re-arranged as Hafan Wen cannot take responsibility in ensuring your attendance.
2. Alternatively you should discuss with your referral worker to establish if they could provide an escort.
10. What do I do If I need to purchase supplies such as papers, cigarettes etc?
1. Hafan Wen provides daily newspapers
2. Hafan Wen provides a non-profit tuck shop on site, that sells

2. Sweets
3. Crisps
4. Toiletries.
3. You will have the opportunity to purchase cigarettes via the local shop on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
